| On Wednesday August 17th 2023, Owner and Operator David Steele partnered with Youth Build, GE Appliances and others, to open the doors to Smoketown’s newest laundromat located at the corner of east Breckinridge and Hancock. As part of the second phase of the Smoketown Community Center Expansion Project, the community needed a place to make sure residents had clean clothes. On August 19th, to celebrate it’s grand opening week, one free load of laundry was offered to residents sponsored by GE Appliances who also donated every washer and dryer in the new facility. |
Growing up as a child going to the old barbershop in the building, Steele also has other plans for the building. Part of those plans include a minority owned small business incubator and a community meeting space for expected to be done by the end of 2023.
